Time Traveler Quilt- Featured today!!!

I felt so happy and honored this morning to be featured here.  Heather chose to feature my most favorite quilt that I’ve made so far!!!

This was my first attempt at real log cabin blocks.  I just made one and stuck it up on the design wall.

I loved it so much, I thought I’d like to make some more.  So there it went; I began creating different sizes and some even turned out to look like rectangles.

The hardest part was filling in the negative space.  I wanted really randomly placed blocks in the quilt, so the negative piecing was a bit tricky.

Then it was on to basting….

very proud of her accomplishment

yet another challenging feat- you can see I had “help.”  She is the reason I originally call this the “Bright Light” quilt….

For the back I just pieced some leftovers.

The binding and quilting thread just had to bright green….

This quilt always makes me happy…..

I keep thinking I need to do another similar one with different colors.

Maybe someday……

Many thanks to Heather and her wonderful Modern Day Quilts Blog!

  1. I’m amazed – and impressed! – that you carve out the time to be so creative. When our kids were little I don’t think I read a book for 5 years! I wish I had tried harder to have a creative life back then… You inspire me!

    • So happy to be any kind of inspiration Liz!! I’m lucky enough to have three girls who like to stay around the house and get along well- most of the time. Oh and I’m okay with the fact that my house is chaos most of the time…..:-)
